Yes to play 3 full albums in upcoming tour, including stop in Clearwater
Right off the bat, let me tell you this: None of the three albums that Yes are playing in their entirety in their upcoming tour is from the 1980s. Sorry, so no 90125, Big Generator or Drama. But if you're a prog rock fan, this is still a can't-miss show.
The three albums will be: The Yes Album (1971), Close To The Edge (1972) and Going For The One (1977). And yes, Yes will play a date April 2 at Clearwater's Ruth Eckerd Hall. (Other Florida dates include March 24 in Hollywood and March 30 in Melbourne. Look for dates closer to you on Pollstar.)
The band's lineup for this tour: co-founding member Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White and Asia keyboardist Geoff Downes. New to the band is vocalist Jon Davison.
"These albums we all easily agreed on — they are complete works in themselves. And several of the songs have rarely been performed live," Howe said in the tour announcement.
There is one small note to the tour schedule: For casino shows, only two albums – The Yes Album and Close To The Edge -- will be performed, says Pollstar.
Tickets for the Clearwater show are priced at $175, $69.50 and $49.50 and went on sale Saturday. Grab them here.
