Couldn't make it through the '80s without 'Lipstick and Leather'

It's well documented on SIT80s that perhaps the hard rock song that gives Steve Spears the most joy is Summertime Girls by Y&T. While that is a great song, I must declare that my favorite Y&T song is Lipstick and Leather.

Hailing from San Francisco, Y&T stands for Yesterday and Tomorrow. In 1984, one year before they had their only Top 100 chart appearance with Summertime Girls, Y&T released their best selling album in its career with In Rock We Trust featuring the funky Lipstick and Leather.

The video for Lipstick and Leather captures the fun times at a Y&T concert, that is until all the noise wakes up the mascot for Y&T, the huge robot known only as Rock. The big reveal in the video comes at the very end when the true identity of Rock is discovered.

Even though they haven't released an album since 2010, Y&T still is out there touring as hard as ever under the guidance of lead singer and original member Dave Meniketti.
