Denmark's not the happiest place on earth? Don't tell that to D.A.D.
It's Monday bright eyes and time to get the busy week started. Oh how we want to stay in bed, or maybe you can just wish it with today's Lost and Found song of Sleeping My Life Away.
Except for Metallica's Lars Ulrich, you would be hard pressed to name another '80s rocker from Denmark, but in the '80s there was also D.A.D. Originally called Disneyland After Dark, the band changed their name to D.A.D. after the lawyers came a calling. After two albums in their home country, they made the big jump to a major label and hit the American charts in 1989 with the single Sleeping My Life Away that reached No. 23 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
The video for Sleeping My Life Away is mostly a performance video featuring the pretty Binzer brothers with Jesper on lead vocals and Jacob on lead guitar and some animation tacked on the end with a green goblin type creatures representing the band. After their follow up album in 1991 failed to chart in America, Warner Brothers dropped D.A.D., however they continue to release albums, tour and have success in Europe.
