Do you remember the Kim Carnes hit that came after Bette Davis Eyes?
I admit I wasn’t a Kim Carnes fan back in the ‘80s. However, I’m starting to come around. Perhaps you are tired of Carnes’ Bette Davis Eyes that ruled the summer of 1981. That No. 1 hit propelled Carnes’ album Mistaken Identity to the No. 1 spot on the album chart, knocking REO Speedwagon’s Hi Infidelity off the top spot ending its 15-week run atop of the album chart.
The follow up single from Mistaken Identity was Draw of the Cards, which only made it to No. 28 on the charts.
Draw of the Cards has that great ‘80s synth sound and the video has some weird carnival activities and one long tongue by some creature of the underworld.
Unlike many ‘80s artists, Carnes keeps a low profile these days residing in Nashville.
