Don't cry, Asia fans, now that we've found another 'lost and found' single

Though Asia just released their 14th album this year, the only songs you ever hear on the radio by them are Heat of the Moment and maybe Only Time Will Tell. But don't all choked up; we're here to remind you of the other hits like Don't Cry.

Following the blockbuster success of their debut album, Asia released Alpha in 1983 and while Don't Cry reached the Top 10 and The Smile Has Left Your Eyes became Steve Spears theme song, the album was viewed as a mild disappointment selling only two million copies compared to 10 million copies for Asia. For those who owned the Don't Cry '45 or the Alpha cassette, there was the bonus of owning the excellent "B" side song Daylight. The video for Don't Cry is campy fun as the boys in the band recreate Raiders of the Lost Ark to cheesy results.

Asia's aforementioned album Gravitas was released in March featuring the single Valkyrie and was recorded by the original Asia lineup minus guitarist Steve Howe. They will start their American tour in September giving plenty of time for Steve to find another copy of his Asia in Asia VCR tape that was recorded over in another epic story from the SIT80's podcast files.
