Dreaming of fish-head music? So did The Radiators
America is often defined by our big cities and perhaps no big city in the U.S.A. is more unique than New Orleans. While many artists from NOLA have appeared on Lost and Found before, let's shine the spotlight on several more starting with hometown favorites The Radiators and Like Dreamers Do.
Combining a Cajun sound with good time rock n roll, the Radiators branded their music "fish-head music" and gained a loyal live following in the '80s and had a few of their albums hit the Billboards Top 200 charts. In 1987, they aligned with a major label and made some videos including the delightful Like Dreamers Do.
In a era of Aquanet hair bands, the tight five-man Radiators looked like average Joes with casual dress, including very casual dress in the video for Like Dreamers Do by keyboardist Ed Volker, who shows up in his bathrobe for the song he wrote. Other video highlights include a shredding guitar solo by a bespectacled lead guitarist with a very Cajun name - Camile Baudoin.
The Radiators stayed together from 1978 to 2011 with zero lineup changes before retiring, however they still perform occasionally during certain New Orleans events and are members of the Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame.
