From 'Oh say can you see' to 'Oh Canada' starting with The Headpins

So right after celebrating the birthday of the United States, it's only fitting to spend a week saluting the music of ... Canada? Of course it makes sense; after all, half of our entitled U.S. citizens claim they are defecting to Canada if "fill in the blank" is elected president in November. If you really are planning to move (as if Canada really wants us), at least embrace the music from our great neighbors to the north as Don't It Make Ya Feel good to listen to '80s Canadian rock.

We've featured The Headpins several years ago on Lost and Found and today we check in to see what the Headpins are cooking and it's healthy heaping of rock music with Don't It Make Ya Feel from the Headpins debut album in 1982. In the video for Don't It Make Ya Feel, the Headpins cater a business meeting with lead singer Darby Mills providing the sass.

Designed as a side project for several Chilliwack members, the Headpins released three albums in the '80s and continue to play selected shows in Canada. When she isn't belting out songs with The Headpins, Mills hands out belts teaching tae kwon do.
