How to be a millionaire? Score a couple big hits in the '80s like ABC did

After the breakout success of The Lexicon of Love, ABC stalled with their next release Beauty Stab. However, they returned strong in 1985 with the hit Be Near Me and (How To Be A) Millionaire that reached No. 20 on the singles chart in 1986.

Millionaire is an eye-catching cartoon that captures the band shrinking in size in pursuit of possessions and the almighty dollar. According to past government stats, there were 574,000 U.S. millionaires and 10 U.S. billionaires in 1980 when the Ronald Reagan Era began along with new tax cuts and other economic policies labeled "Trickle Down Economics." When Reagan left office in 1989, there were 1.3 million millionaires and 52 billionaires in the United States.

ABC is still around, although it’s down to just lead singer Martin Fry performing as ABC now.
