It's official: New 'Star Wars' to be set 30 years in the future
The new Star Wars movie will be set 30 years in the future -- umm, meaning 30 years past the end of Return of the Jedi. According to Starwars.com: "It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces. No further details on casting or plot are available at this time."
That's about perfect since Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are about 30 years older. Billie Dee Williams, you're welcome to show up too.
The release date of Star Wars Episode VII is Dec. 18, 2015.
