It's still a holiday for some of us. So what? So 'Let's Dance'
To Americans, Englishman Chris Rea might be considered a one-hit wonder as his lone appearance in the Top 40 came in 1978 with the No. 12 ballad Fool (If You Think Its Over). Across the pond, Rea is known as one of the most prolific artists of the ‘80s as he released nine albums in our favorite decade including multiple No. 1 albums in the UK and has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
Among the many gems Rea released, Let’s Dance was one of his closest singles to revisit the Top 40 as it peaked at No. 81 in 1987.
In 2001, Rea contracted the dreaded pancreatic cancer but had successful surgery and has remained in good health since allowing Rea and his signature slide guitar to still perform.
