Kevin Costner returns to 'Field of Dreams' site for movie's 25th anniversary
Kevin Costner and Timothy Busfield returned to the Field of Dreams site in Dyersville, Iowa, this weekend to celebrate the movie's 25th anniversary. Also on hand was broadcaster Bob Costas, who hosted a Q&A with the cast on Friday.
"I'm glad to be here with friends and old acquaintances and making some new ones, and for my children to be a part of this," Costner said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "It's certainly a high mark for me, this little movie, and it remains so."
The event was intentionally planned for Father's Day weekend because of the movie's theme involving fathers and sons.
"I don't know if anybody thought that, 25 years later, it would still be an iconic movie. You don't aim for the fences. You try to do your best job 12 hours a day," said Busfield, who played Costner's skeptical brother-in-law in the film. "What it's become, you don't ever expect."
