Kiss, Hall & Oates, Peter Gabriel to join Rock Hall of Fame
Never in a million years would I have guessed that Kiss would make it into the Rock Hall of Fame before Journey, Styx or Duran Duran. Or even after Madonna. But that's how it will go on April 10 when Gene, Paul and "assorted stand-ins" will be inducted into the once-glorious shrine.
Other '80s-era acts joining Kiss include Hall & Oates (seriously? Why weren't they inducted 10 years ago? 20 even?), Peter Gabriel and Linda Ronstadt. In case you actually care about '90s music, Nirvana made it in too.
Here's what's really noteworthy: Fan votes were counted this year too. BUT, the winner of the fan vote (in this case, it was Kiss with more than 200,ooo votes) counted as ONE SINGLE VOTE among the more than 700 other voters in the process. ONE VOTE? Way to reach out to the people, Rock Hall. Couldn't you dilute the people's voice a little more?
