Lost and found in the '80s: Zebra and 'Who's Behind The Door'
Some may say that the terrible two's is the most trying phase of child-rearing. I would counter that more excruciating is the knock-knock joke phase when your kids relentlessly pummel you with, "Knock, Knock. Who's There?" So who is behind the door? If we are talking '80s music, then the response is always Zebra.
Zebra makes it third appearance on Lost and Found, but today's song, Who's Behind The Door, might be its most familiar since it was their highest-charting single on the pop charts when it made it to No. 61 in the summer of 1983. Off their self-titled debut album, the video for Who's Behind The Door is a little reminiscent of Close Encounters of the Third Kind as instead of a mountain of mashed potatoes, the corporate lackeys from Zebra are transfixed by computer design images that leads them, their co-workers and a stray child to the rocky cliff to await the mothership.
Zebra is still hanging around their native New Orleans and continue to play shows.
