Lost and found: Linda Ronstadt 'How Do I Make You'

Linda Ronstadt had been sitting on the Lost and Found on-deck circle for months as I debated on how to introduce one of her ‘80s songs. Unfortunately, the sad news released last week of Ronstadt’s Parkinson diagnosis and inability to sing anymore turns our spotlight on Ronstadt into a bittersweet entry.

It would not be far fetched to say that Ronstadt was the most popular singer in America in the late ’70’s. She started off rocking in the ‘80s, but by the middle of the decade she started trying new styles performing standards with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra and then in the late ‘80s recording a Spanish-language album, which became the best selling non-English language album in U.S. chart history.

In 1980, Rondstadt hit the Top 10 with How Do I Make You that reminds us of the powerful voice, the All-American good girl looks and that this girl knows how to rock.
