Lost and found: Nick Lowe 'I Knew The Bride (When She Used To Rock N Roll)'
The career of Nick Lowe is impossible to recap in a matter of a few paragraphs, but it is worth noting that Lowe was one of the artists to appear on the first hour of MTV back in 1981. The video MTV featured was his classic Cruel To Be Kind that reenacted the 1979 marriage between Lowe and Carlene Carter and featured Dave Edmunds as their chauffeur.
In 1985, Lowe released I Knew The Bride (When She Used To Rock N Roll) that was originally written by Edmunds in 1977. The song reached No. 77 on the charts and was produced and backed up by Huey Lewis and the News, featuring Huey’s trademark harmonica sound.
On October 29th, Lowe is releasing his first holiday record entitled Quality Street that can be ordered along with a Christmas cards, a band snow globe and Nick Lowe wrapping paper - which may be more cruel than kind.
