Lost and found: Nik Kershaw 'Wouldn’t It Be Good'
I am lucky to live in a town that is still Stuck in the ‘80s -- Springfield, Missouri. We have a wonderful arcade named “1984” that for $5 will let you play all the ‘80s video games your heart desires. They have everything from the popular Donkey Kong to the more obscure Burger Time and Joust. When your wrist needs a break from gaming, “1984” also has a TV screen that shows ‘80s music videos, including many forgotten classics that inspired several of this week’s Lost and Found selections.
In 1984, Nik Kershaw just missed the Top 40 by peaking at No. 46 in America with Wouldn’t It Be Good. His other singles from the album Human Racing would make Kershaw the top singles act in the UK in 1984.
The video is a classic with Kershaw in his video suit causing all kinds of commotion. In 1986, the song was revived when a cover by the Danny Hutton Hitters made it onto the successful Pretty In Pink soundtrack.
Kershaw released his latest album in 2012 and will be touring Australia with Kim Wilde later this year.
