Monday lost and found: INXS 'I Send a Message'

Between 1982 when INXS first landed on MTV with the videos for The One Thing and Don’t Change and the mega success of the Listen Like Thieves and Kick albums was the overlooked album, The Swing.

1984’s The Swing was produced by Nile Rodgers and was met with mostly indifference in America and the UK, but has the distinction of being one of the best selling rock albums in Australia history. INXS made five videos for The Swing album including the second single, I Send A Message. The song reached No. 2 in Australia although it only peaked at No. 77 in the US.

At the beginning of the year, INXS was one of ten music artists to be commenerated with a 2013 postage stamp in their native Australia. The other nine honorees are Men At Work, AC/DC, Olivia Newton-John, Kylie Mingoue, John Farnham (Little River Band), Cold Chisel, Paul Kelly, The Seekers and Ian "Molly" Meldrum.
