Monday wake-up alarm: Fuzzbox 'Love is a Slug'

By 1986, girl rock bands were finally starting to get noticed with the success of The Go-Gos and The Bangles. Formed in England, Fuzzbox (short for We’ve Got a Fuzzbox and We’re Going To Use It) caught the wave on MTV and got noticed for their video Love Is A Slug.

In a strange career move, Fuzzbox’s follow up album, Big Bang, abandoned their alternative rock sound for a poppy Bananarama sound. While Big Bang was a hit in the UK, the confusion over musical styles brought an immediate end to the band.

Fuzzbox briefly reunited in 2010 and their fans were saddened by the death of guitar player Jo Dunne in the fall of 2012.
