New Orleans Week covered A to Zebra

Publicity photo

New Orleans has many favorite dishes, perhaps none more famous than gumbo. So it is fitting that as we wrap up our New Orleans/French Creole week, the music we've heard has been like gumbo, a little this and a little that. Also in the potpourri of the different sounds of New Orleans bands is a familiar face to Lost and Found - the hard rocking band Zebra with today's selection of Tell Me What You Want.

I can't explain why this is Zebra's fourth appearance on Lost and Found other than their songs have held up great over the decades and their videos were always interesting. Tell Me What You Want is the lead track of their self-titled debut album and was Zebra's second single peaking at No. 107 on the singles chart in 1983.

The video for Tell Me What You Want is typical of hard rock videos in the early days of MTV as all you needed was a hot girl in heavy makeup, smoke machine, mannequin and a small sound stage to fit everything under a tight budget for your new rock video.

While they stopped releasing music a long time ago, Zebra still gets together multiple times a year to perform live.
