Nobody leaves without singing the blues about '80s remakes
Ready for the latest? Disney is remaking 1987's Adventures in Babysitters as a TV movie, according to Movieweb.com.
If you think about it, a Disney-fied remake of the original movie almost makes sense. The plot - a babysitter on duty must leave the sanctuary of the suburbs to rescue a friend in the big city - feels like a Disney movie. (Actually, it was a Disney movie in a way - it was distributed by Buena Vista Pictures.)
The 1987 version starred Elisabeth Shue as the babysitter along with Keith Coogan, Vincent D'Onofrio and Penelope Ann Miller. According to movieweb, the new version will feature two babysitters (Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson) who must find a kid who somehow snuck away. No word on whether the remake also will recreate the infamous "Nobody leaves without singing the blues" scene, but I feel it's a must!
No release date, but it's expected to hit TV screens sometime this summer. Still curious? Check out the trailer.
