One final tribute to Scott Miller and Game Theory
Here’s another example of jangly, alternative pop that, apparently, I liked so much in our favorite decade. This time it is the band Game Theory. From 1981 to 1989, they put out plenty of catchy tunes that just never hit the charts. Case in point is the terrific Erica’s Word from the 1986 release Big Shot Chronicles. Oooo, it’s just chock full of guitar hooky goodness.
According to Wikipedia, the song was band leader Scott Miller’s “take on the dissolution of the original Game Theory line up.”
In 1991, Scott went on with a new band, The Loud Family, and recorded with them until 2006. Sadly, Scott died just this past Monday, April 15, so that book has closed.
