Please, no sniff or tears. At least this band had one big hit
As much as I dislike the term One Hit Wonder, sometimes the name fits. No crying about it, Sniff 'N' The Tears only had one hit, but they tried in the '80s with One Love.
In 1979, one of the coolest rock songs released was Driver's Seat by the English band Sniff 'N' The Tears. America embraced Driver's Seat and it made No. 15 on the charts and the song has enjoyed multiple rebirths being featured Boogie Nights, car commercials and a European Pioneer Stereo commercial that made Drivers Seat a No. 1 hit in the Netherlands in 1991. Like most One Hit Artists, Sniff 'N' The Tears released other deserving singles that never got heard like One Love.
In 1980, Sniff 'N' The Tears released a new album and the single and video for One Love, but it got lost in the shuffle. Once again using a cool synth riff, One Love deserves a listen although the video is a bit vanilla with performance mixed in with leader Paul Roberts poking around in a spider-web covered room searching perhaps for another hit. Despite releasing seven albums from 1979 to 2011, Sniff N' The Tears never were a chart presence again.
