Steve Perry reveals the love of his lifetime, his battle with cancer and explains his run-in with Martha Quinn
Steve Perry continues to amaze his fans. Though generally fairly publicity shy, he occasionally reaches out via the website fanasylum.com. His latest post there, published Thursday, will make your heart ache.
In his letter, Perry explains how he recently met the love of his life, a psychologist named Kellie Nash who was fighting breast cancer.
"I never felt like this before....... I had finally found her. She's real and she's right in front of me," Perry writes. "We started seeing each other and Yes, we both knew that we were meant to be together. My life was forever changed in ways I will explain at another time but it was all because of my Kellie."
Last December, Steve lost Kellie after the cancer she was fighting reached her brain.
"She was so strong, so courageous and we really loved each other so very much," Steve writes. "I've been trying to grieve and not run from this loss so for the last 5 months that's what I've been doing along with recalling everything being in Love with Kellie taught me."
It was this last Sunday that Perry ran into former MTV veejay Martha Quinn at a street fair, where this photo was snapped. The scar on Perry's cheek is from recent surgeries to remove skin cancer.
"It was so great seeing Martha," he writes. "I was a bit emotionally lost that day and seeing Martha got me grounded again. ... There's so much more to this story than you know and soon you will know more about it."
We can't wait, Steve. Take care of yourself in the meantime, but we can't wait. Best wishes to you.
