Toto plans new album, tour for 2014
Hold the line! Toto's plans are right on time. The band is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a new studio album and a tour that will bring them through North America in 2014.
"The repertoire is coming together so naturally it is as though we never took a break from creating as Toto in the studio," founding member David Paich said in an official press release. "For the fans who have been waiting patiently and continually showing the band support and love over the last decade or so, this one's for you. Collectively we can't wait to share these recordings with the world."
Also in the works for 2014 is Toto 35th Anniversary: Live In Poland, filmed in 2013 in Lodz, Poland. The two-hour plus performance on CD and DVD will feature all the band's hits. As for the touring road, Toto begins a tour of Japan in April. In the fall, they'll return to North America to tour with Michael McDonald.
Meanwhile, some sad news: Long-time member drummer Simon Phillips is quitting the band to pursue his solo career and other interests.
