Twenty years ago, Kenny Rogers knew it wasn't time to fold 'em
Our obsession with the '80s takes us back 30-plus years now, however today's Lost and Found song is only Twenty Years Ago by the gambler himself - Kenny Rogers.
While most do not miss the days of '80s country pop, I think most everybody appreciates the songs and movies of Kenny Rogers. While Rogers stopped hitting the Top 40 Pop Singles chart with regularity in 1984, Rogers still kept hitting the country and adult contemporary charts throughout the rest of the decade with solid songs like Twenty Years Ago.
Twenty Years Ago was a No. 2 hit in 1987 on the country charts and peaked at No. 15 on the AC charts as well. The video for Twenty Years Ago shows Rogers in small-town USA lamenting about old times and how things were much simpler back when we were kids. The song also goes for the heartstrings when it references "Joe" who dies in the Vietnam War. Rogers grew up in Houston, so obviously the video was not filmed in the Texas metropolis, but an Internet search on some of the businesses on the desolate streets lead to the conclusion that this video was filmed in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Rogers still performs and had quite a run the past few years with his Geico commercial. His last album was a 2015 Christmas album entitled Once Again Its Christmas.
