Ultra-rare: John Fogerty 'Vanz Kant Danz'
It’s time for another week of Rock Dinos as we celebrate the ‘80s music of artists primarily known for their work in previous decades. Kicking off the week is John Fogerty’s Vanz Kant Danz from his 1984 No. 1 album Centerfield.
It’s no secret of the hatred between John Fogerty and his former Factory Records boss Saul Zaentz. Both took turns suing each other as Zaentz sued Fogerty for plagiarizing himself on The Old Man Down the Road and Zaentz sued Fogerty for defamation for the song Vanz Kant Danz, which was originally titled Zanz Kant Danz, but was altered as part of the settlement.
Despite the acrimony, the video is actually one of the funniest videos to be produced in the ‘80s with the thieving pig, clever animation and the biting chorus of “Vanz Kant Danz, but he’ll steal your money”.
Fogerty is gearing up for a busy year with the release his latest album called called Wrote a Song for Everyone.
