Video for ZZ Top's 'TV Dinners' is tastier than the song

ZZ Top’s Eliminator album is one of the best-selling albums of the ’80s with more than 10 million units sold. Released in spring of 1983, the first single from Eliminator was Gimme All Your Lovin', which barely cracked the Top 40 peaking at No. 37. Next up was Sharp Dressed Man, which despite its monster success on MTV only made it to No. 56 on the singles chart. The third single, TV Dinners, was released in December 1983 and never made it to singles charts.

TV Dinners found ZZ Top taking a break from the hotrod cars and models to give a nod to the old sci-fi movies with a mischievous claymation creature stealing the show.

After TV Dinners, ZZ Top released Legs for dessert in May of 1984 as their fourth single and Legs made it all the way to the Top 10 to become ZZ Top’s biggest single ever, despite being pressed almost 13 months after the release of Eliminator.

ZZ Top continues to keep their facial hair long, tour and even plug adult beverages like Jeremiah Weed.
