When it comes to Canadian music, it's never enough ... especially on Civic Day
Happy Civic Day! What day you say? In Canada, the first Monday in August is a holiday and since the Lost and Found blog features absolutely loves Canadian music, we will look for any excuse to celebrate so let's start yet another Canada Week with the boys from April Wine because Enough Is Enough.
Dating back to the 1800s, many parts of Canada have reserved the first Monday in August as a holiday in order to have one last extended weekend before the end of summer. It is called Civic Day in many parts, but other provinces have different names but it still adds up to a day off leaving Canadians ample time to hit the highways, which is exactly what April Wine does in their video for Enough Is Enough.
Released in 1982, Enough Is Enough fell short of the Top 40 in the U.S. peaking at No. 50. In Canada, Enough Is Enough was April Wine's last Top 10 hit peaking at No. 8. With limited camera angles, the video for Enough Is Enough still looks fairly dangerous as the band performs on the tail of a semi while it plows down the highway. Along the way, April Wine picks up groupies in the forgotten age of hitchhiking.
This makes the fourth time we've featured April Wine on Lost and Found and we haven't even featured their highest-charting single in the U.S. - Just Between You And Me. They continue to tour, but most of the dates are in Canada.
