Whenever Marshall Crenshaw is on your mind...

Marshall Crenshaw may have scored only one Top 40 hit with Someday, Someway, but his catalog of fantastic songs runs deep for ‘80s fans. Born in Michigan, Crenshaw has also tackled Hollywood playing Buddy Holly in La Bamba and appearing in Peggy Sue Got Married. In 1994, he published a book called Hollywood Rock: A Guide to Rock N Roll in the Movies.

Despite being on the big screen, Crenshaw made very few videos, but looks like he is having fun in the charming Whenever You’re On My Mind from 1983’s Field Day album.

Crenshaw also is responsible for the excellent Gin Blossom song Til I Hear It From You that was omnipresent on the radio in 1996. Crenshaw has been touring with former Blaster Dave Alvin and has started a subscription service where you can sign up and get three 3-song vinyl EPs mailed to your house during the year for $26.
