Who performed this commonly titled song? Eh, it's touch and go
One a recent podcast, Steve Spears discussed the confusion over which version of The Power Of Love was being referenced in a Facebook questionnaire on "Happy Songs in the '80s." Was it the Huey Lewis & the News No. 1 smash from Back To The Future or a favorite of his by Frankie Goes To Hollywood - not to mention Celine Dion's much different Power of Love? Having the same title for a different song is probably more common than you think so let's explore another same title-different song today with Touch and Go.
Last week on Lost and Found we featured the proggy song Touch And Go by Emerson, Lake & Powell and with a catch phrase as common as Touch And Go it's no surprise another hidden gem of the same title exists, so today we present for you Any Trouble and their version of Touch And Go.
We featured the English band Any Trouble one other time back in 2013 with their song Second Chance (not to be confused with 89's Second Chance by 38 Special - see this game is endless!) The band produced a lot of good music in the early '80s but never could sell and it was no exception with 1983's Touch And Go. The video for Touch and Go is full of geographical editing for the mellow melancholy song that never made any chart noise other than a few plays on MTV.
Any Trouble finally tired of their lack of success and broke up in 1984, but have on occasion reunited. The creative force behind Any Trouble is Clive Gregerson who now lives in America and has released many solo albums independently.
