Who's the greatest 'repeat name' band of the '80s? Let's Talk Talk about it
If not for Duran Duran and the Go-Gos, Talk Talk would be the greatest repeat name band of the ‘80s with The The coming in a strong fourth. Talk Talk is best remembered for their 1984 hit It’s My Life that was remade into a Top 10 hit and gold download by No Doubt in 2003.
In 1985, Talk Talk made its last appearance on the charts with the equally compelling Life’s What You Make It that only made it as far as No. 90 in 1986.
Talk Talk is an English band led by Mark Hollis and their distaste for pleasing record company executives and videos were strong enough to short circuit any chances of the band had in making it as big as the Duran Durans on the music scene.
Despite Hollis’ regrets about making the video for Life’s What You Make It, the video has great images and icky creepy crawlers that fit in well during this haunted fall season.
