All Eyes: Backyard sunset

Skip O'Rourke | Times

I love sunsets and sunrises. They remind me about God, because man could not create anything that beautiful, and every sunset is different, like this one on Sunday evening (4/3/16).

People often think that you have to travel to exotic places to capture pretty pictures, but you don't. Sometimes we just have to look in our backyards, as in this case. Or, for those of us fortunate enough to live in the Tampa Bay area, we can travel to our beautiful beaches, where we can bask in the sunset as it changes with every moment of passing time.

I often take photos in my own backyard: flowers, butterflies, birds and, of course, hundreds of sunsets. As my children have grown over the years, many photos have been taken in the yard using bushes as a backdrop, waiting for the perfect golden light. So explore your backyard with your camera or smart phone and see what you find. (Photo was taken with an iPhone 6)
