All Eyes: Canopy pilots swoop into Zephyrhills' Skydive City



The United States Parachute Association (USPA) 2016 National Championships of Canopy Piloting were held last week at Skydive City in Zephryhills. In canopy piloting competitions, the skydivers fly a given course over land and water and are judged on speed, distance and accuracy. 55 skydivers participated in the competition. The top eight competitors in the open class will form the United States team for the World Championships in August. The weeklong competition concluded with an awards banquet on Friday night.

Curt Bartholomew took the championship title.

The U.S. Team members that will compete at the World Championships in August are Curt Bartholomew, Tommy Dellibac, Ian Bobo, Greg Windmiller, Matt Shull, Gage Galle, Mikeal Stevens, Albert Berchtold and alternate Joe Abeln.
