All Eyes photo gallery: Bay Pines VA ceremony honors Vietnam War veterans and their families
Veterans and non-vets gathered together this morning at the Bay Pines VA for a ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. The hour-long event on the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center campus recognized the service and sacrifice of Vietnam veterans and their families. Vietnam veterans who attended the event received a special commemorative lapel pin. The event was open to all veterans, their family and friends, and the general public. Keynote speaker for the event was U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. (ret.) Gary L. Littrell, a Medal of Honor recipient. The event also featured musical performances, a special parade of colors provided by the Vietnam Veterans of America, and traditional military presentations including the posting and retiring of the U.S. Flag, a sounding of "Taps" and a firing salute.
