Times Photographer favorites: Scott Keeler shares his top photo from 2015

Florida Senate President Andy Gardiner, R- Orlando, adjusts his son Andrew Jr., 7, rose in his office, March 3, 2015, prior to the start of the annual Florida Legislative session in Tallahassee. I like capturing the behind the scenes moments of public figures because it shows them in less scripted situations. The readers get to see them out from behind their podiums.

I always enjoy photographing people behind the scenes during quiet human moments. This was the case when Florida Senate President Andy Gardiner, R- Orlando, helped his son, Andrew, get ready for the first day of the 2015 session when members families visit the Senate and House chambers in Tallahassee. Many assignments at the Florida Capitol involve arranged press conferences, speeches, and protests. It was nice for a change to photograph a spontaneous human moment between father and son in the President's office.
