Video: Kids bake and eat cricket cookies

October

Cricket flour.

Does flour made from ground up crickets sound like it would make great chocolate chip cookies?  Well that’s just what fifth-graders at Trinity School for children tried recently.  They used Cricket Flour to make a batch of cookies which they closely examined before eating.  Watch the video by JAMES BORCHUCK to see how it went.

From left, fifth-graders Emily Goyanes, Owen Palukaitis and Anthony Cruz smell cookies made with cricket powder before taking a bite at Trinity School for Children in Tampa, Fla. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015. Students tasted cricket powder cookies during a lesson on food sustainability and alternative nutrition sources.
