Homan gets opponent: E.J. Ford
TEMPLE TERRACE — E.J. Ford, a political anthropologist, has filed to challenge Republican State Rep. Ed Homan in northeast Hillsborough’s District 60.
“I know it’s late, but I didn’t think that this seat should go uncontested,” Ford, a Democrat, wrote in an e-mail. “My opponent has been on the wrong side of most education legislation, cutting resources and impoverishing teachers.”
Ford, 40, is a PhD candidate at the University of South Florida. He is a King High School graduate who lives in Temple Terrace with his wife, stepsons and daughter. He worked last year in Mary Mulhern’s successful race for Tampa City Council.
Homan, an orthopedic surgeon, is seeking his fourth term in the House.
