Flowers fundraiser is Tuesday
District 3 Pinellas County Commission contender Rene Flowers plans a fundraiser Tuesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Midtown Sundries on First Avenue S in downtown St. Pete. At first blush you could argue she needs cash. The most recent financial reports, as of Aug. 21, had her with $1,952 on hand and her Republican opponent Nancy Bostock sitting on more than $24,000.
Then again, Darden Rice was the clear fundraising champ in the primaries, and Flowers edged her out.
