Obama volunteers by the hundreds headed to Pinellas

The Democratic Party in Pinellas has sent out a message requesting donations of cash, office supplies, food and lodging for what appears to be a massive get-out-the-vote drive for Barack Obama.

Fourteen organizational meetings are planned across Pinellas Saturday. The party is requesting housing help so that the 300 volunteers expected from other states between now and Election Day have a "place to crash and bathe."

On Election Day, the party indicates that 50 get-out-the-vote staging areas are planned in Pinellas.
