Hernando leans right

Now that the dust has settled in Tuesday's election, the results in Hernando County reveal a new political picture. Republicans took solid control of the County Commission, ousting two longtime Democratic incumbents. Voting problems marred the Brooksville City Council election, where an incumbent lost by just 34 votes. And residents here bucked the state and favored John McCain in a turnout that fell below expectations.
