Hillsborough GOP elects new leaders

Deborah Cox-Roush ran unopposed and was elected chairwoman of the Hillsborough County Republican Party on Tuesday night. She replaces David Storck, who opted not to run for re-election after taking heat for an e-mail he forwarded just before the Nov. 4 general election warning of "the threat" of  carloads of black people going to the polls to vote for Barack Obama. But Storck left on a high note, earning a standing ovation after addressing the crowd.  "It's been a rough year for Republicans in Hillsborough," Storck said. "But we're moving forward."

Art Wood was elected vice chair, Paul Phillips was chosen as treasurer, Robin Lankford is the new recording secretary and Janice Toutsman fills the post of corresponding secretary. Read more about it here.
