Retired judge Greco seeks a return to the bench
When Dick Greco Jr. began serving as a senior judge in Hillsborough courtrooms last year, the retired judge said he wasn’t interested in a full-time position.
That was then. Now, he's seeking another appointment after all. He is among the six people being considered by the governor for an open county court seat.
Greco, who served as a county and circuit judge before leaving for private practice, said filling in on the county bench got him excited about serving again. It’s "really how I’d like to end my career," he said today.
The other nominees are: attorneys Michael Benito, Jesse Dominguez, Matthew Lucas and Ryan Rodems and General Magistrate Richard Weis.
The Judicial Nominating Commission also forwarded six names to the governor last week for an open circuit court position. Those nominees are: attorney Herbert Berkowitz, county judges Paul Huey, Nick Nazaretian, Elizabeth Rice and Cheryl Thomas and Weis, the general magistrate.
