St. Petersburg deputy mayors might not have jobs next year

ST. PETERSBURG--A majority of the nine mayoral candidates want to eliminate the city’s three deputy mayor positions created by Mayor Rick Baker.

Those employees include David Metz, Tish Elston and Goliath Davis.

Candidates Bill Foster, Kathleen Ford, Sharon Russ, Alex Haak and Paul Congemi have all said they would not have deputy mayors. Metz, Elston and Davis, however, could still work for City Hall, the candidates said, only their job descriptions would change.
