St. Petersburg Mayoral hopeful Kathleen Ford files amended finance report

ST. PETERSBURG-- Mayoral candidate Kathleen Ford filed an amended finance report Wednesday, days after the St. Petersburg Times reported she accepted a donation that exceeded the state's $50 cash contribution limit.

A $100 cash contribution from Laura Bryant was amended to reflect a $50 contribution from Laura Bryant and a $50 cash contribution from her husband, Matt Bryant.

"That's what they intended when they came to the fundraiser," said Ford, an attorney, who attributed the mistake to a simple error.

The Bryants were not immediately available for comment.

The Times report also showed rival Jamie Bennett accepted multiple cash donations exceeding the state limit. He has not filed an amended report.
