John Warren loans himself $1,790

ST. PETERSBURG -- Mayoral hopeful John Warren loaned himself $1,790 but told state and city officials he couldn't afford a roughly $1,600 election fee.

Instead, Warren spent $1,370 on supplies and the city's $250 filing fee. He paid developer Dekin Dorcas $1,000 for his Web site.

Campaign finance reports are due today.

In other news, District 4 candidate Jason Diviki loaned himself $500 of his total $680 campaign kitty. He spent most of it on fees.

He faces City Council member Leslie Curran, who raised $1,850, and educator Pamella Settlegoode, who raised $1,347.

Also, Alex Haak, who forgot to qualify for mayor, turned in his final report. He loaned himself $1,200, which he spent on printing and fees.
