Mayoral hopeful Kathleen Ford schedules meet-and-greets
ST. PETERSBURG -- Mayoral candidate Kathleen Ford wants to spend more time with you.
Here's the press release her campaign sent out today announcing the first of a series of meet-and-greets:
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (July 7, 2009) – In the world of instant information and flashy advertising, St. Petersburg mayoral candidate Kathleen Ford still believes in old-fashioned grassroots campaigns.
"It's impossible to hear the concerns of our residents unless you can engage them in one-on-one conversations'" Ford said. "I believe in open and accessible government and there is no better way to do that than to go to the neighborhoods."
Ford kicks off the first of a series of neighborhood "meet & greets" Saturday, July 11 at Northwest Park. It will be an opportunity for residents to meet Ford and ask questions of what St. Petersburg would look like under a Ford administration, including her proposed budget for the City.
Ford will be at the Northwest Recreation Center pavilion on the corner of 22nd Avenue and 58th Street North beginning at 9 a.m. before joining her campaign volunteers in walking door to door throughout the surrounding neighborhoods.
