Hillsborough firefighters endorse Rose Ferlita for mayor

Hillsborough County firefighters this week endorsed county commissioner Rose Ferlita in her run for Tampa mayor. "We truly believe the timing for your vision of an engaged, collegial, and cooperative effort throughout the local region is at hand," wrote George Sucarichi, president of the Hillsborough County Fire Fighters Local 2294 in a letter to Ferlita announcing the endorsement.

City elections are in March 2011. So far, Ferlita's most significant competition in the race is City Council Chairman Tom Scott and former City Council member Bob Buckhorn, who has the endorsement of the Tampa firefighters.
