Ann Hildebrand backs Debbie Wells in Pasco Commission race
Republican Debbie Wells just snagged the endorsement from Pascoâs longest-serving county commissioner â Ann Hildebrand. Hildebrand, who now lives in Alabama, retired in 2012 after 28 years on the commission. She said she has known Wells since the mid-1970s. âShe is a can-do woman with a strong and strategic business acumen. Debbieâs phenomenal social and business skills will dramatically make an impact on improving the quality of life for our Pasco residents. She will be a tremendous asset to the county commission and I strongly endorse her,ââ Hildebrand said in a statement released by Wellsâ campaign. Hildebrand took commission office in 1984 simultaneously with Mike Wells Sr., the current candidateâs former husband. Debbie Wells is seeking the District 1 commission seat based in east Pasco. Her Republican primary opponents are businessman Ronald Oakley and Rachel OâConnor of Wesley Chapel, both of whom ran for unsuccessfully for the seat in 2012. The primary is Aug. 30. No-party candidate Dimitri Delgado and a write-in face the winner in November.
