Anthony Weiner sexting scandal bumps Bob Buckhorn from 'Hardball'
Add Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn to the list of people whose expectations were upended by the latest sexting scandal involving New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner.
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, Buckhorn and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed did a live interview on race in America with MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews.
But the 7 p.m. replay of the segment was scrubbed after the news cycle exploded with allegations that Weiner, writing under the name "Carlos Danger," sent sexually charged text messages and an explicit photo of himself to an unidentified woman — after he resigned from Congress for sending similarly racy messages.
Buckhorn Wednesday described the circumstances of getting bumped as “a first for me.”
“I’ve been upstaged by kids and dogs,” he said, “but never by a guy who sends pictures of himself to unsuspecting women.”
