Ben Diamond raises $100,000 in May for House District 68 race
House District 68 Democratic candidate Ben Diamond is facing a deep-pocketed opponent in the Aug. 30 primary.
Eric Lynn raised $753,000 when he was in the race against Charlie Crist in the 13th Congressional District and has transferred most of that to the HD68 race.
But Diamond, a few days ahead of the June 10 deadline for the latest campaing filing reports, announced today that he raised $100,000 in May for his campaing and a related PAC.
Here's the release:
Ben Diamond Raises over $100,000 in First Full Month of Fundraising
St Petersburg, FL – Today, Ben Diamond announced he raised over $100,000 in the May fundraising period. Diamond raised $75,752.82 into his campaign committee and $30,000 into Protecting Pinellas Families, a political committee associated with his campaign.
This means that Diamond has raised more money into his campaign account in one month than any other Democratic House candidate in Florida this cycle.
“I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received over the past few weeks,” said Diamond. “It’s clear that Pinellas County families and small businesses want someone who will stand up and fight for them in Tallahassee.”
Diamond, who began his campaign on April 25th of this year, raised $28,366 in the six days before his first fundraising deadline for the month of April. He’s now raised over $130,000 in just 37 days.
